 Greetings agency partners,
OPM’s Open Opportunities platform will be decommissioned on March 15, 2025. Federal agencies used Open Opportunities to post details and micro-learning opportunities. This bulletin is to inform you that agencies can use USAJOBS to post details:
- Agencies can post details on USAJOBS by creating a vacancy through a Talent Acquisition System (TAS) provider. When creating the vacancy, select the "detail" appointment type. The hiring path or "This job is open to" should be "Federal employees-Competitive service" or "Federal employees-Excepted service."
- Reach out to your HR office or your TAS provider for more information on creating vacancies that get posted on USAJOBS.
- Other best practices include:
- If applicable, stating in the “Job Summary” and “Conditions of Employment” that the detail is only open to full-time federal employees currently employed at the agency posting the detail.
- Using the “Conditions of Employment” section to clarify other requirements to be selected for the detail, such as: supervisor approval, performance ratings, whether the detail is reimbursable and the length of detail.
- Use the USAJOBS · Agency Talent Portal to create an agency specific branded search page that will display your agency's details on one search page. Branded search pages are free to create with your access to ATP. You can request your own unique URL (e.g., AgencyDetails.usajobs.gov), and you can add a banner that displays your agency's name. You can share the branded search page throughout your agency or link to it from an agency intranet site.
- Here is an example of an agency specific branded search page: blm.usajobs.gov
- USAJOBS also recently launched a government-wide branded search page where all federal details are posted: details.usajobs.gov
Best,
USAJOBS Program Office
