 Dear CHCOs and Deputy CHCOs,
Today OPM posted a revised Severance Pay Fact Sheet. The updated fact sheet includes a clearer explanation regarding the severance pay fund computation and an example computation. It also adds information about a longstanding statutory bar on paying severance to an employee whose position has a rate of basic pay fixed at an Executive Schedule (EX) rate or who is paid at a rate of basic pay above the maximum EX rate (EX-I).
For additional information, agency headquarters-level human resources policy offices may contact OPM at paypolicy@opm.gov. Component-level human resources offices must contact their agency headquarters for assistance. Employees must contact their agency human resources offices for further information regarding severance pay.
