 Dear CHCOs and Deputy CHCOs,
OPM is providing the Template for Requesting Voluntary Early Retirement Authority (VERA) associated with the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP). As you complete the template, you will notice OPM pre-populated certain fields.
- List your Agency name, and indicate “entire agency” as the “covered components”
- State the reason for your VERA request – OPM included recommended language based on the DRP
- Provide the intended dates of the VERA – OPM included suggested dates based on the DRP
- Provide information on the covered organizations and employees
- Select the types of actions necessary absent VERA [DO NOT SELECT "DOWNGRADES," "TRANSFERS," "REDUCTION IN FORCE," or "REASSIGNMENT OF STAFF TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS/FUNCTIONS"]
- Include agency contacts
- Sign and date the template
