National Women's Health Week: May 12-18, 2013

Women are the health care decision-makers in their families, but too often, women put their own health last. They are too busy scheduling doctor appointments for their family members and tend to overlook their own health needs. But women need to take care of themselves in order to take care of their families and loved ones. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, it will be easier than ever for women to take control of their health. Starting October 2013, whether a woman is uninsured or just wants to explore new options, she can visit the new Health Insurance Marketplace, a place that will give her and her family an easier way to find health insurance that fits the way they live — all in one place.

With National Women’s Health Week starting this Sunday, we encourage women to take charge of their health by visiting HealthCare.gov to learn more about:

And don’t forget to encourage the women in your life to take advantage of the preventive services by scheduling a checkup in honor of National Women’s Checkup Day. A healthy mom equals a healthy family!
