To recognize Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW), Secretary Becerra and HHS Leaders released a statement on the observance and recent HHS investments to strengthen maternal health.
Several HHS Office on Women's Health initiatives were highlighted, including the HHS Perinatal Improvement Collaborative, and the State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal Partnership Programs to Reduce Maternal Deaths Due to Violence. Read the full statement below.
Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW) Events

This event will bring awareness to the maternal health crisis through an authentic conversation among participants about their maternal health experiences. The discussion will highlight that all Black women are more adversely affected by maternal health morbidities and the need for action.
The Conversation will include remarks from key leaders including:
