USPSTF Requests Comments on Screening Recommendation Statement for Intimate Partner Violence, Elder Abuse, and Abuse of Vulnerable Adults

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is seeking comments for its draft recommendation statement on screening for intimate partner violence (IPV), elder abuse, and abuse of vulnerable adults.

USPSTF recommends that clinicians screen for IPV in women of reproductive age and provide or refer women who screen positive to ongoing support services. It also concludes that there is not enough evidence to assess the benefits and harms of screening for abuse and neglect in older or vulnerable adults.

The draft recommendation statement and evidence review are available for public comment until May 21, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
