Tribal Undergraduate to Graduate Research Training and Leadership Experiences (TURTLE) Program
Cooperative agreement from the NIH to fund federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal entities to identify and develop a pool of scientists to conduct research on AI/AN health and health disparities. Deadline is January 27, 2025.

Knowledge Dissemination Among State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Public Health Agencies Through Communities of Practice During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation released a report summarizing lessons learned from using communities of practice (CoPs) to support state, Tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) public health agencies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report draws on findings from an environmental scan and in-depth interviews to understand the types of CoPs that supported STLT public health agencies during the COVID-19 pandemic, the characteristics of CoPs that were most helpful to STLT public health agencies, and the ways CoPs assisted public health agencies with translating federal guidance into practice.

Interactive Computer-adaptive Chronic Kidney Disease Education Program
This study, sponsored by the University of Chicago in collaboration with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, will evaluate a culturally tailored computerized education program in hospitalized African American patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). It will evaluate whether computerized-adaptive education (CAE) increase patients' knowledge about CKD self-care and renal replacement therapy (RRT) options compared to usual care (UC). It will evaluate if CAE increase patients' intent to participate in CKD self-care and RRT preparation compared to UC. This study will take place in Chicago, Illinois.
Developing Tools for Dialysis Decision Support
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, this study will evaluate the impact of a web-based dialysis decision support tool on decisional conflict, values-treatment concordance, and other decisional outcomes in individuals with advanced chronic kidney disease. The study will assess the tool's acceptability and usability. This study will take place in Palo Alto, California.

West Virginia Health Sciences Loan Repayment Service Program
The Health Sciences Service Program is a loan repayment program for health profession students interested in practicing in underserved communities in West Virginia. The program makes approximately 15 awards each academic year to students enrolled in West Virginia healthcare education degree programs. Funds are provided to participants once they begin practicing and provide documentation regarding their educational loan balance. Deadline for Application is January 15, 2025.
National Library of Medicine Associate Fellowship Program
This one-year residency program hosted by the National Library of Medicine is for early and second career librarians within five years of graduation interested in advancing equitable and innovative futures for biomedical libraries. The remote fellowship combines curriculum and project work, providing knowledge and skills in user engagement, preservation of biomedical information, coordination of health data standards, and more. Deadline for application is January 24, 2025.
