World Heart Day

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups. World Heart Day serves as a reminder to everyone around the world to take care of their hearts. This year’s campaign theme, Use Heart for Action, focuses on empowering audiences to effect change and prioritize heart health.

The World Heart Federation’s campaign resources are available in multiple languages and can be adapted to each community according to their specific needs. You can create your own posters or social media posts, use digital stickers, and include the hashtags #useheart and #worldheartday in your custom messaging for your community.

Early Investigator Advancement Program

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Equity Council’s program assists new and early-stage investigators in their professional and career development by providing guidance in the creation of a competitive R01 grant application. NCI is particularly interested in applicants focused on cancer or cancer health disparities research, who can commit to the program requirements, those who have previously applied, and individuals from diverse backgrounds that are underrepresented in the cancer research workforce.

Learning Collaborative: Crisis Intervention and De-escalation in Primary Care

The National Training and Technical Assistance Partners Learning Collaborative will provide four learning sessions to help healthcare workers identify, de-escalate, and intervene in crisis behaviors in the healthcare setting. These four sessions will use evidence-based practice interventions that promote safety for patients and staff by emphasizing preventive measures and least-restrictive/non-physical interventions to reduce the risk of unsafe crisis behaviors.
