The Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services now offers an all-new, free, accredited e-learning program about cultural competency and cultural humility for nurses and nursing students. The e-learning program is called Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Nursing, and it offers up to four free continuing education credits and a flexible learning experience. CLAS in Nursing aims to equip current and future nurses with essential skills to deliver equitable, respectful, patient-centered care.

We invite you to join a network of schools nationwide that use this e-learning program to help students meet learning objectives related to cultural competency. Nursing faculty may assign the program to students and track completion via the statement of participation generated when a learner passes the post-test. Additionally, the program offers case studies and self-reflection questions that can guide classroom discussions.

This program is a valuable resource for improving the future nursing workforce’s quality of care by empowering them to understand, respect, and respond to each patient’s unique needs. Please visit the program today at Think Cultural Health.
