Every Monday in August, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) is bringing you an extra edition of its FYI: Weekly Health Resources newsletter to help you catch up on OMH’s health equity-promoting activities and resources you may have missed so far in 2023. You will continue to receive the regular FYI: Weekly Health Resources every Wednesday.
Did you know that OMH supports its mission to improve the health of racial and ethnic minority populations by convening its partners to share and disseminate information? In this week’s special edition newsletter, we’re highlighting the webinars and virtual events hosted by OMH this year that focus on healthy equity-promoting programs, resources, and best practices.

In April, OMH held a webinar in honor of National Minority Health Month 2023 highlighting federal and local efforts in promoting health equity, culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS), and implementing evidence-based health literacy strategies to tackle disparities among vulnerable populations and communities.

OMH also hosted a Facebook Live in honor of National Minority Health Month 2023. OMH joined its partners from the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network to discuss effectively organizing an inclusive national network; best practices for communicating accurate information to patients; and strategies for outreach that are culturally competent and inclusive of diverse populations.
