Updated Community Health Assessment Toolkit
The Community Health Assessment Toolkit from the American Hospital Association provides a nine-step guide for hospitals and health systems to collaborate with their communities and strategic partners to conduct a community health assessment and meet community health needs assessment requirements. The newly updated toolkit places a focus on health equity at every juncture, especially in community engagement and data practices.

Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign
While enrollment is open year-round, the back-to-school season is a great time to help connect families, kids, and teens to health coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services lets families know who is eligible, what benefits children can get and how to apply for coverage.
Organizations can use campaign materials from the Outreach Tool Library and explore information to support school-based outreach efforts.

The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases has developed free resources to help people in your community take steps to improve their bone, joint, muscle, and skin health. This new social media toolkit offers ready-to-use graphics and sample messages to download and share in newsletters and across social media platforms in English and Spanish. Observational Study of HIV+ Deceased Donor Transplant for HIV+ Recipients
This study, sponsored by Johns Hopkins University in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will evaluate the safety and outcomes of solid organ transplantation in HIV+ recipients of HIV+ deceased donor organs and the overall survival and graft survival compared to transplantation with an HIV- organ. This study will be conducted in Aurora, Colorado.
System Interventions to Achieve Early and Equitable Transplants Study
This study, sponsored by Duke University in collaboration with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, will study how kidney care for everyone despite race can reduce racial differences in care and improve access to kidney transplants. This study will be conducted in Durham, North Carolina.

The Walmart Health Equity Scholarships support Doctor of Pharmacy degree students who are enrolled in a U.S. college or school of pharmacy and demonstrate leadership, academic success, and a commitment to serving rural or medically underserved patient populations.
Deadline for application is September 15.
The Alliance Mentorship Program
The Mentorship Program from the Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance matches knowledgeable leaders in the community with early-career professionals to provide guidance and coaching as they navigate their professional path. Mentees can choose from two options to participate in the program: one-to-one ongoing mentorship with sessions lasting over a period of 12 months, or one-to-one situational mentorship where mentees will have one-time sessions to learn skills from experts in the field.

With back-to-school season gearing up around the country, the OMH Knowledge Center is featuring Building Foundations of Health and Wellbeing in School: A Study of Restorative Practices and Girls of Color. This report from the Georgetown Law Center on Poverty and Inequality presents findings from a two-year study on Black and Latina girls who attend American public middle schools and high schools. The study examines how school-based restorative practices are associated with protective health factors, such as strong relationships, a safe and positive school climate, social-emotional skills, and overall well-being and resilience.
