August 6-12 is National Health Center Week
National Health Center Week is an annual, week-long health observance that celebrates and increases awareness of America’s 1,400 community health centers, providing quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities annually.
This year’s theme, The Roadmap to a Stronger America, highlights the achievements and work done at community health centers in every state and territory. During the observance week, commemorate and celebrate the future of community health by promoting and participating in the dedicated focus days.

Grant from the Maternal and Developmental Risks from Environmental Stressors Center for Environmental Disparities supports one-year research projects that aim to address scientific gaps in our understanding of the unequal burden of adverse environmental health impacts in susceptible communities.

Medical Reserve Corps Small Grant Program
Cooperative agreement from the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to build the capabilities of medical reserve corps units that meet their communities’ public health and medical needs in emergencies.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation published Problem Management Plus: An Evidence-Based Approach to Expanding Access to Community-Based Mental Health Supports, an adaptation of the World Health Organization's Problem Management Plus intervention for use in moderate- to low-income countries with limited behavioral health services.
Project Management Plus is a proven, scalable, and cost-effective low-intensity mental health intervention trained non-clinical workers can deliver for people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression, or stressful life problems.

This study, sponsored by the University of Miami in collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health, will evaluate the effectiveness of an enhanced version of eHealth Familias Unidas for reducing depressive, anxious symptoms and suicide behavior in Hispanic youth. This study will be conducted in Miami, Florida.
A Community Health Worker Intervention to Identify and Decrease Barriers to COVID 19 Testing and Vaccination
This study, sponsored by Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will compare the results of a COVID-19 specific curriculum led by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Safety-Net Community Health Workers to effectively increase COVID-19 testing and vaccination. This study will be conducted in Los Angeles, California.

Tribal Infection Control Boot Camp
The Tribal Infection Control Boot Camp from the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention is a fast-paced in-person educational course specifically tailored for Tribal health care participants practicing in a multidisciplinary health care delivery center. The course is geared towards experienced and new infection prevention and safety practitioners.

Future Leaders Program
The Future Leaders Program is an initiative by the Western Region Public Health Training Center at the University of Arizona to support students conducting applied public health experiences by providing training and funding during the course of their projects. Applications are reviewed monthly; however, it is recommended to apply between August 1 - September 15 for projects beginning in the fall semester.
