PhenX Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Assessments Collection
The National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) released the PhenX Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Assessments Collection, available in the PhenX Toolkit. This toolkit contains 19 protocols that expand on the previous SDOH collection to help measure upstream factors that shape behaviors and health outcomes. This collection provides a common currency for studying SDOH across public health research studies.Researchers are encouraged to use this collection to examine the role of SDOH and the factors related to health inequities and enable effective interventions to reduce health disparities.

U.S. Influenza Surveillance
The U.S. influenza surveillance system is a collaborative effort between the CDC and its many partners in state, local, and territorial health departments, public health and clinical laboratories, vital statistics offices, health care providers, hospitals, clinics, emergency departments, and long-term care facilities. Information in five categories is collected from nine data sources to:
- Find out when and where influenza activity is occurring.
- Determine what influenza viruses are circulating.
- Detect changes in influenza viruses; and
- Measure the impact influenza has on illness, hospitalizations, and deaths.

Leveraging mHealth and Peers to Engage African- Americans and Latinxs in HIV Care (LEAN)
This study, sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University, seeks to evaluate whether mHealth-enhanced Linkage to Care and Retention (mLTCR) can improve HIV outcomes among HIV-infected African Americans and Latinos compared to standard Linkage to Care and Retention (LTCR) programs. The study will be conducted at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Natural History of Rheumatic Diseases in Minority Communities
This study, sponsored by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), seeks to explore the causes of rheumatic diseases and why many of them affect certain minority communities more severely. The study will be conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
