Addressing Health Disparities: Learn How to Provide Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Maternal Health Care Services
The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH)'s Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Maternal Health Care free e-learning program is designed for health care providers and students seeking knowledge and skills related to cultural competency, cultural humility, person-centered care, and combating implicit bias across the continuum of maternal health care.
This program is accredited for two hours of continuing education for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, certified nurse midwives, and certified midwives.

Resources: COVID-19
The demands of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to burnout among all health professionals. Many are experiencing new or worsening mental health challenges and are choosing to leave the health workforce early. Health professionals from racial and ethnic minority groups have been especially impacted due to pre-existing inequities around social determinants of health.
The U.S. Surgeon General's Addressing Health Worker Burnout advisory provides action steps for health care organizations, federal, state, local, and Tribal governments, academic institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders. It also provides guidance for health workers' family and friends.

Call for Nominations to the NCUIH Youth Advisory Council
The National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) seeks American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth ages 18-24 who live in urban communities and off reservations for their 2022-2023 Youth Advisory Council Cohort.
The NCUIH Youth Council aims to build its members' advocacy, leadership, and professional skills to address substance misuse, suicide, and other mental health challenges among Native youth.
Deadline for application is September 9, by 12:00 p.m. ET.

Database: HRSA Maternal and Infant Health Mapping Tool
The Maternal and Infant Health Mapping Tool, developed by the HRSA Maternal and Child Health Bureau, is an interactive online resource that provides county-level data on maternal and infant health indicators such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and access to prenatal care. Data is available for AI/AN, Asian, Black, Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, and multi-racial populations.
This tool was designed to help federal, state, local, and Tribal decision-makers and others visualize maternal and infant health factors to understand existing needs and target resources.

Navigating New Motherhood 2 (NNM2) Study
This study, sponsored by Northwestern University and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), seeks low-income, pregnant women ages 16-50 years old. This study aims to determine whether a postpartum patient navigation program improves health outcomes among low-income women. The study will be carried out at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
WeCareAdvisor Research Study
This study, sponsored by the University of California, Davis and the National Institute on Aging (NIA), seeks volunteers age 21 years and older who are the primary caregivers of a person living with dementia. Volunteers should expect to participate in the study for up to six months. The study will be carried out online and via telephone calls.

NIH Earl Stadtman Tenure-Track Investigators Program
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has opened a call for applications from doctoral-level biomedical researchers interested in tenure-track positions within the NIH Intramural Research Program (IRP). IRP is the NIH's internal basic, translational, and clinical research program. It funds research in several fields relevant to NIH's mission, including health disparities.
Deadline for application is September 30.
Health Educators Resource: Healthy Eyes Educational Series
The Healthy Eyes Educational Series, developed by Prevent Blindness, is a set of nine modules, available in English and Spanish, that can be used by community and school health educators to build their community's awareness about eye and vision health, vision disorders, and how healthy behaviors such as staying active and eating healthy foods can lower the risk of eye disease and vision loss.
