Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. HHS OMH.

During Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) Heritage Month, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) joins its partners in acknowledging the AA and NHPI communities' journey of resilience and celebrates their shared legacy, strength, and unity. We also recommit ourselves to confronting discrimination and hate in all their forms – so that together, we can create a country that is truly equitable and inclusive for all.

Check out the OMH Blog for Health Equity to read about important AA and NHPI topics, including Addressing Social Needs and Structural Inequities to Reduce Health Disparities, Advancing AANHOPI Health Equity Practices, and Combating Racism Advances Health Equity.

Resources: COVID-19

Image shows several people showing that they have received a COVID vaccine

Omicron and its lineage variants continue to be the dominant COVID-19 variant in the United States. Vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from COVID-19 and reduce the likelihood of new variants emerging. Find vaccines and boosters near you at Vaccines.gov

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized Paxlovid to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and children 12 years and older. The FDA has published a Fact Sheet for Health Care Providers and a Patient Eligibility Screening Checklist for Prescribers to support clinical decision making.

Celebrate National Adolescent Health Month

National Adolescent Health Month. HHS OASH. Banner shows three young people hanging out, smiling.

May is National Adolescent Health Month. Join the HHS Office of Population Affairs (OPA) and OMH in celebrating young people's strengths and potential, encouraging youth engagement, and highlighting key topics in adolescent health.

Investing in adolescent health and well-being generates a "triple benefit" for society: healthier youth today, healthier adults in the future, and healthier future generations when today's adolescents become parents, guardians, and caretakers. Check out OPA's resources to help adolescents build on their strengths, overcome barriers to accessing services and resources, and make healthy and informed decisions.
