New Notice of Funding Opportunity from OMH: Demonstrating Policy Effectiveness to Promote Black Youth Mental Health Initiative
The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) solicits applications for projects for the Demonstrating Policy Effectiveness to Promote Black Youth Mental Health Initiative. This initiative seeks to identify health and wellness policies that are successful in improving Black youth mental health, including suicide prevention.
Demonstration projects will implement evidence-based policies, pilot policy assessment protocols that will determine the level of effectiveness of general health and wellness policies in diverse settings, and develop and carry out demonstrations of selected innovative and culturally effective policy approaches.

Call for Public Comments on Scientific Questions for the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans
HHS and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are requesting public comments on proposed scientific questions that will be used to develop the 2025-2030 edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. These scientific questions will inform the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, support an efficient and effective process that allows for public engagement, and ensure that the scientific review conducted by the Committee addresses federal nutrition policy and program needs.
Deadline for written comments is May 16.

Vaccine to Prevent Recurrence in Patients with HER-2 Positive Breast Cancer
This six-year longitudinal study, sponsored by the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and the U.S. Department of Defense, seeks female volunteers, age 18 years or older, with clinical stage I-III HER-2 positive breast cancer. The study will be carried out at the following facilities:

- Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia
- Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick, New Jersey
- Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York
- Ohio State University Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio
- University of Washington Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington
Evaluation of Trimer 4571 Therapeutic Vaccination in Adults Living with HIV on Suppressive Antiretroviral Therapy
This study, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), seeks volunteers age 18 years or older with an HIV-1 infection and who are receiving continuous antiretroviral therapy. The study will be carried out at the University of Pittsburgh HIV/AIDS Clinical Research Unit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This on-demand course from the CDC features practical strategies to improve vaccination rates among children, including how to deliver clear and concise vaccine recommendations and address parents' frequently asked questions. By highlighting key points before, during, and after a patient's visit to support vaccine conversations, this continuing education (CE) activity will reinforce best practices for improving vaccination rates. The course offers CE credits to administrators, CHES-certified health educators, physicians, medical assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and medical students.
COVID Vaccine Ambassador Training: How to Talk to Parents
The COVID Vaccine Ambassador Training: How to Talk to Parents is a free, two-hour online class that trains parents of school-age children, teachers, and school staff to discuss concerns parents and guardians of school-age children might have about COVID-19 vaccines and encourage parents to make evidence-based decisions about vaccinating their children. The course was developed by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with the Johns Hopkins Consortium for School-Based Health Solutions and support from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
