World Hypertension Day: National Hypertension Control Initiative
Join the American Heart Association (AHA) on World Hypertension Day for a virtual event introducing the National Hypertension Control Initiative. Resources: COVID-19
People who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic. Visit the CDC website for guidance on How to Protect Yourself and Others When You’ve Been Fully Vaccinated.
Together Toward Health (TTH) is an initiative to stop the spread of COVID-19 and strengthen health and resilience in California's most impacted communities. TTH has created five public health communication toolkits, including social media outreach resources in four Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander languages: Chamorro, Tongan, Samoan, Marshallese, and Hawaiian.
The Eastern Pacific hurricane season is prognosticated to start around May 15, with the Atlantic and Central Pacific seasons prognosticated to start around June 1. The CDC provides information on Hurricane Season and COVID-19, including advice to help you safely prepare, evacuate, and shelter for severe storms while protecting yourself and others during the pandemic. You can find further information on preparing for hurricane season at Ready.gov. Information is available in English, Spanish, and several Asian, Caribbean, European, and Middle Eastern languages.

Report: Southeast Asian American Journeys
The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center report, Southeast Asian American Journeys: A National Snapshot of our Communities, highlights socioeconomic, housing, immigration, health, and education trends within the Southeast Asian American (SEAA) community. Meant as a resource for policymakers, funders, community-based organizations, organizers, and the general public, the report captures key disaggregated data for SEAA refugee communities who fled the trauma of war and violence following the Vietnam War, Khmer Rouge genocide, and bombings in Laos to seek haven in the United States.

This study, sponsored by the NIH National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, seeks volunteers age 18 and older with hepatitis B. The study will be carried out at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C During Pregnancy with Sofosbuvir/Velpatasvir
This study, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh, Gilead Sciences and the NIH Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, seeks pregnant women ages 18-39 years with hepatitis C viral infection. The study will be carried out at the University of Pittsburgh's Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Training: Building Leaders of Color (BLOC) en español
The NMAC virtual training program, BLOC en español, seeks to increase the meaningful participation of persons of color with HIV who are prepared to engage in leadership roles and activities related to HIV service delivery in their communities. The training will be facilitated in Spanish. June 21-25 in Houston, Texas. Deadline for application is May 31.
NAM Fellowships for Health Science Scholars
The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Fellowships for Health Science Scholars allow early-career academic professionals to participate in evidence-based health care or public health studies that affect the health of the American people. Fellowships are available in the areas of obstetrics & gynecology, family medicine, public health, emergency medicine, and bioethical issues in care, research, and policy. Training on the VA MISSION Act, Sec. 133: Military Sexual Trauma
These half-hour accredited courses, sponsored by the Veterans Health Administration (VA) Employee Education System, are designed to provide community mental health providers and community medical professionals with brief training on key information related to the care of Veterans who experienced military sexual trauma, which is associated with both physical and mental health conditions.
