The HHS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released guidelines on When the COVID-19 Vaccine is Limited, Who Gets Vaccinated First? During Phase 1a of the vaccination campaign doses will be offered to healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities. Vaccination will expand to include more groups in Phases 1b, 1c and beyond. 

The Kaiser Family Foundation has released key findings from its COVID-19 Vaccine Monitor, an ongoing research project tracking the public's attitudes and experiences with COVID-19 vaccinations, including vaccine hesitancy among Black/African Americans.

The Trust for America's Health, the National Medical Association and UnidosUS have published a policy brief, Building Trust in and Access to a COVID-19 Vaccine Within Communities of Color and Tribal Nations

Report: Surgeon General's Call to Action to Control Hypertension

The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Control Hypertension seeks to avert the negative health effects of hypertension by identifying evidence-based interventions that can be implemented, adapted, and expanded in diverse settings across the United States. The Call to Action outlines three goals to improve hypertension control: making hypertension control a national priority, ensuring that the places where people live, learn, work and play support hypertension control, and optimizing patient care for hypertension.

Publication: Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025

Published by the HHS and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 provides advice on what to eat and drink to meet nutrient needs, promote health, and help prevent chronic disease. This edition of the Dietary Guidelines is the first to provide guidance for healthy dietary patterns by life stage, from birth through older adulthood, including women who are pregnant and lactating. A summary of the Guidelines is available in English and Spanish

Black Men's Care, an Intervention to Re-Engage HIV+ Black Men in Care (BMC Study)

This behavioral study, sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the NIH National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), seeks Black/African American men who have sex with men, age 18 years or older, living with HIV. The study is to be conducted at UCSF in San Francisco, CA.

Diabetes Nutrition Education for American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

This behavioral study, sponsored by the University of Colorado, Denver, seeks American Indians/Alaska Natives, age 18 years or older, with a current diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study is to be conducted at the Lakeport Tribal Health Consortium in Lakeport, CA and the Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, OK.

The 2019/2020 Prevention Resource Guide is a comprehensive document produced annually by the HHS Administration for Children and Families (ACF). It provides guidance for families and organizations to help prevent child abuse and neglect. The Resource Guide includes a collection of tip sheets in English and Spanish, along with a directory of organizations offering supportive services.
