Honored to serve my Community, Tribe, and Country during the COVID-19 pandemic

“When I received my deployment orders, I was happy I was going home to support the Navajo Nation’s public health emergency response during the peak of their Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) surge," said LCDR Naomi A. Aspaas, RN, BSN, U.S Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, Public Health Advisor, American Indian/Alaska Native Policy Lead, Office of Minority Health.

In the latest OMH blog, LCDR Naomi A. Aspaas explains how responding to COVID-19 in Indian Country includes partnering and supporting American Indian and Alaska Native communities with culturally and linguistically competent care and having a good understanding of community-based challenges.
