The NIH has updated its COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines for the cocirculation of influenza and COVID-19. 

The CDC provides Interim Guidance for Routine and Influenza Immunization Services During the COVID-19 Pandemic. The CDC has also released guidance on safety during Trick or Treating and Other Halloween Activities, as well as other upcoming fall holidays such as Día de los Muertos and Thanksgiving.

FluSAFE: Flu SMS Alerts to Freeze Exposure

This behavioral study, sponsored by Columbia University and the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), will enroll approximately 400 households with ≥1 child in order to test a text-message based surveillance intervention meant to decrease household influenza transmission. Study is to be conducted throughout several neighborhoods in New York City.

Response to Influenza Vaccine During Pregnancy (FLU-PG)

This phase 4 clinical trial, sponsored by Stanford University and the NIH NIAID, seeks pregnant women age 18-49 years old in order to gain a better understanding of the immune response to vaccination in pregnancy and after pregnancy. Study is to be conducted at the Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, CA.

Fighting Flu Fatigue is an issue brief published by the Trust for America's Health with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The report focuses on actions taken during the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic and highlights the importance of increasing vaccination rates for the seasonal flu. Strategies for community outreach are presented along with data showing disparities in vaccination rates by race/ethnicity, age and geography.
