A Patient-centered Intervention Using Technology to Reduce Colorectal Cancer Disparities in Primary Care

This interventional study, sponsored by the University of Florida (UF) and the NIH National Cancer Institute (NCI), seeks volunteers age 50-73 years old who can read English at least at an eighth-grade level and have an email account or the ability to receive texts in order to test a patient-centered, tailored message intervention delivered via virtual technology for increasing colorectal cancer screening among racial/ethnic minority and rural patients. Study to be conducted at UF in Gainesville, Fla.

The document Coping with Stress During Infectious Disease Outbreaks is a consumer-oriented fact sheet that lists common symptoms and behaviors associated with experiencing stress related to widespread news oa disease outbreak. Published by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in response to the Ebola outbreak beginning in 2014, the paper identifies physical and emotional symptoms to recognize, and suggests ways to relieve stress.
