Request for Information: 2021-2025 NIH-wide Strategic Plan
NIH seeks public input on a framework for the 2021-2025 NIH-wide Strategic Plan. The new plan will guide NIH's research efforts over the next five years and articulate NIH's priorities in the following key areas: biomedical and behavioral science research, scientific research capacity and scientific integrity, public accountability and social responsibility in the conduct of science. Deadline is March 25.

Publication: Women's Preventive Services Guidelines
The purpose of the Women's Preventive Services Guidelines is to improve women's health across the lifespan by identifying preventive services and screenings to be used in clinical practice. The guidelines were developed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Women’s Preventive Services Initiative, with support from HRSA. Preventive services recommended by the guidelines include screening for HIV and other STIs, anxiety, breast cancer, cervical cancer, gestational diabetes mellitus and interpersonal and domestic violence, among others.

Publication: Birth Settings in America: Outcomes, Quality, Access, and Choice
Published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, this consensus study report presents findings on how a variety of social determinants of health, including income, educational levels, access to care, financing, transportation, structural racism and geographic variability in birth settings, influence childbirth and have contributed to poor birth outcomes among African American and American Indian/Alaska Native women.

Clearance of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in Chronic Kidney Disease
This phase 1 clinical trial, sponsored by the University of Washington and the NIH National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), seeks African American and African volunteers, age 18 years or older, for an evaluation of the metabolic clearance of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in individuals with varying degrees of chronic kidney disease. Study to be conducted at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash.
Concurrent fMRI-guided rTMS and Cognitive Therapy for the Treatment of Major Depressive Episodes
This phase 4 clinical trial, sponsored by the NIH National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), seeks volunteers, age 18-65 years old, with a major depressive disorder and current depression for a study that seeks to test whether using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans will help locate the best area for repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in study participants. Study to be conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md.

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Programs, offered by the HRSA Bureau of Health Workforce, provide student loan relief to health professionals who commit to 2-3 years of service at NHSC-approved sites, NHSC-approved substance use disorder sites and rural community NHSC-approved sites. Deadline is April 23, 7:30 pm ET.
eCourse: Tribal Public Health Training
This interactive e-course, offered by the National Indian Health Board, is intended to educate Tribal leaders and Tribal Advisory Committee members on public health topics and provide information, including best practices, to support consultation on public health topics in Indian Country.
