HHS/Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP), in collaboration with other federal partners: Webinar. Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America – Implementation Update. This webinar will provide an update on efforts to implement the Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America initiative. Participants will understand more about the initiative, hear from HHS agencies about some of the major activities planned for implementing the initiative and learn about the indicators that have been developed to measure progress toward ending the HIV epidemic in America.

HHS/Indian Health Services (IHS): Cooperative agreement. Epidemiology Program, Ending the HIV Epidemic in Indian Country. Supports reduction of new HIV infections and relevant co-morbidities, specifically Sexually Transmitted Infections and Viral Hepatitis C, among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) people. Eligibility is limited to current Tribal Epidemiology Center awardees.

HHS/Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE): Cooperative agreement. Secondary Analyses of Strengthening Families Datasets. Funds research to conduct secondary data analysis of archived data, specifically the Building Strong Families, Supporting Healthy Marriage, and Parents and Children Together datasets.

HHS/National Institutes of Health (NIH): Phased innovation award. Target Assessment, Engagement and Data Replicability to Improve Substance Use Disorders Treatment Outcomes (R21/R33 Clinical Trial Optional). Supports research to generate and conduct preliminary tests of targeted addiction treatment to address multiple substances, which may include alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.

HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Grants. Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America. The purpose of this program is to fund technical assistance and systems coordination for the 48 counties, Washington, D.C., San Juan, Puerto Rico and seven states identified in, and funded through, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Parts A and B component.

HHS/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Cooperative agreement. Network of Modeling Centers to Improve Evidence Base for Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza Prevention and Control. Supports research that will develop, advance and apply models to investigate the utility and impact of prevention and control strategies for seasonal and pandemic influenza, including vaccination and treatment.

Indigenous Adolescent Girls' Empowerment (IMAGEN) Network: Strengthening Native Girls' Protection and Safety: Reclaiming Matrilineal Traditions through Girl-Centered Programming. Helps local groups of women master girl-centered program planning tools in order to develop and operate a weekly girls' talking circle in their community.

Opioid Use Disorder in Pregnancy in Long-Term Maternal/Infant Outcomes (Mother/BabyOUD). Researchers seek pregnant women, age 18 years or older, who are currently taking buprenorphine for OUD, are enrolled in a prenatal opioid maintenance program at the IU Health University Hospital and are planning to deliver at Riley Hospital for Children. Association of State Public Health Nutritionists: Health Equity Internship Program. Federal, regional, state and local health agencies provide real-world work experience to students for 12 weeks to complete health equity projects in the areas of HIV, Cancer, Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, Lupus, Nutrition, Mental Health, Program Planning, Health Policy, Tobacco, Injury/Violence Prevention, Aging and more. Applicants selected for the Fall Session are notified by September 1, and Spring Session applicants are notified by December 15.

The book Building Healthy Communities through Medical-Religious Partnerships, 3rd ed. describes opportunities for health-related outreach in religious congregations and how health can fit in with existing faith principles. It includes recommended topics to use in health education programs for congregations, examples of viewpoints from a physician and a religious leader who have participated in medical-religious partnerships, and other community resources to help start a program.
