National Opioid Misuse Community Assessment Tool map detail
  • The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and NORC at the University of Chicago have released The National Opioid Misuse Community Assessment Tool. This interactive map allows users to locate overdose hotspots and overlay them with data that provides additional context to opioid addiction and death, including the strength and diversity of local economies, ethnicity, educational attainment, and disability status of residents.   • HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): FY2019 Nurse Faculty Loan Program Grant. Provides funds to accredited schools of nursing to offer loans to students in advanced education nursing degree programs.

  • HHS/National Institutes of Health (NIH): Improving Smoking Cessation Interventions among People Living with HIV (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) Grant.

  • HHS/US Department of Defense (DoD): Breast Cancer, Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2. Supports promising research that has high potential to lead to, or make, breakthroughs in breast cancer treatment.

  • HHS/HRSA: Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP) Grant. Supports eligible hospitals in meeting value-based payment and care goals for their respective organizations, through purchases of hardware, software and training.

  • Skin Cancer Foundation: 2019 Research Grant Awards. Supports one-year pilot research projects related to skin cancer. The program is open to dermatology residents, fellows, and junior investigators.

  • Academy of General Dentistry Foundation: 2018 Grant Program. Supports nonprofit and/or community-based programs that provide oral health care, oral cancer screenings and prevention education for underserved populations.

Scholarships / Fellowships

  • National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC): 2019 Spring NBCCF Rural Scholarship. Provides financial support to students who are currently enrolled in a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs-accredited counseling master's program, live in a rural area, and commit to serve rural populations.

Clinical Trials

  • The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in partnership with DoD: Interventional (Clinical Trial) study. T-Cell Therapy for Advanced Breast Cancer. Researchers seek women age 18 years or older with metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. Study to be conducted at seven Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centers throughout New York and New Jersey.   • Benaroya Research Institute: Interventional (Clinical Trial) study. Intraoperative Radiation Therapy in Early Stage Breast Cancer (IORTBreast). Researchers seek women age 45 years or older who have clinical stage Tis, T1, T2, N0 or M0 breast cancer. Study to be conducted at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Learn more.
