This series of 2-day trainings will provide American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) professionals with strategies to make grant proposals more competitive and is designed specifically for tribes and tribal organizations. HHS/OMH, OMHRC: Clinical HIV/AIDS Regional Training. This one-day training is for doctors, nurses, case managers, community health workers and other health care professionals working in tribal agencies and clinics that deliver HIV prevention services. It seeks to increase providers' knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment with presentation topics on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV/HCV integration, and HIV & opioids. Supported by the Secretary's Minority AIDS Initiative Funds (SMAIF), the training is free to attend and limited to 30 providers serving AI/ANs. For further information, please contact Elton Naswood.

Assessing and Communicating Heterogeneity of Treatment Effects for Patient Subpopulations: Challenges and Opportunities. Heterogeneity of treatment effects (HTE) is the variation in how individuals respond to a treatment. This symposium will focus on major sources of HTE, HTE considerations in study design and statistical analysis, and how HTE may be communicated to stakeholders via various avenues such as drug trial snapshots and labeling.

Prevention of Hepatitis B Virus Infection in the United
States: Recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices
is a recent report that provides updates on recommendations from the Advisory
Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The report recommends policy
changes such as universal hepatitis B virus vaccination of newborns and
high-risk adults, along with suggestions for reducing transmission of the virus
for pregnant women.
