According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA),slightly more than half of Americans aged 12 or older report being current drinkers of alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol increases people’s risk of injuries, violence, drowning, liver disease, and some types of cancer. This April, during Alcohol Awareness Month, communities are encouraged to provide education and conduct awareness efforts about the dangers of drinking too much.
