- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Environmental Justice Small Grants (EJSG) Program. Provides funding for projects that address local environmental and public health issues within an affected community. Deadline is February 10, 2017. Learn more.
- HHS/National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS): All of Us Research Program Engagement Partners (OT2). The goal of the All of Us Research Program is to build a diverse research cohort of volunteers in a longitudinal, long-term research effort to transform the understanding of factors contributing to individual health and disease. - Montana Healthcare Foundation (MHCF): 2017 Request for Proposals. MHCF funds projects that focus on American Indian health, behavioral health, and partnerships between healthcare institutions, community-based organizations, and public health departments. - Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF): Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program. Provides four-year postdoctoral research awards to increase the number of physicians, dentists, and nurses from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. Deadline is March 15, 2017. Learn more.
- Fahs-Beck Fund for Research and Experimentation: Faculty/Post-Doctoral Fellows Program. Awards grants to studies aimed at developing, refining, evaluating, or disseminating interventions designed to prevent or ameliorate significant social, psychological, behavioral, or public health problems. - The New York Academy of Medicine: Margaret E. Mahoney Fellowship in Health Policy Program. Provides stipends for medical, dental, public health, public policy, and graduate nursing students to conduct summer research projects on some aspect of health care delivery transformation for vulnerable populations and/or early childhood health and development, with an emphasis on policy implications. Loan Repayment
- HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program. This program pays for 60% of unpaid nursing education debt over two years, with an option to extend to a third year for an additional 25% of the original balance. In exchange, applicants must work for a minimum of two years at a Critical Shortage Facility. Deadline is February 23, 2017. Learn more.
- HHS/HRSA, National Health Service Corps (NHSC): Zika Loan Repayment Program. This program provides loan repayment assistance to healthcare providers in exchange for a three-year commitment at NHSC-approved sites addressing the health effects and risks associated with Zika. - In observance of Black History Month, the Knowledge Center is highlighting the book series March. Written by Congressman John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, and illustrated by Nate Powell, this series is an autobiographical graphic novel that tells the story of the Congressman's life and his activities during the Civil Rights Movement. Set in three parts, each book describes different events of the movement including lunch counter sit-ins, the Freedom Riders, and the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, ending with the famous march in Selma, Alabama, all the while promoting non-violent protest and action.
