Scholarships / Fellowships

  • The Commonwealth Fund, in partnership with Harvard Medical School's Minority Faculty Development Program: Mongan Fellowship in Minority Health Policy. Designed to prepare physicians for roles in transforming health care delivery systems and promoting health policies and practices that improve health care access for racial and ethnic minorities and economically disadvantaged groups. Internships / Mentoring

  • HHS/NIH: Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP). This is a year-long research enrichment program designed to attract research-oriented medical, dental, and veterinary students to NIH's intramural campus. Deadline is January 13, 2017. Learn more
  • The University of California, San Francisco: Training Program for Scientists Conducting Research to Reduce HIV/STI Health Disparities. This program will assist investigators with strengthening their programs of research and obtaining NIH funding. Deadline is January 18, 2017. Learn more.

Cancer

Banner reads: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
  • OMH recognized October 19 as Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day. A new campaign led by the HHS Office on Women’s Health (OWH) is providing tools to providers and patients to support conversations about breast reconstruction. An updated fact sheet from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), with support from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), CDC, OWH, OMH, and HRSA’s Office of Rural Health Policy, outlines options on breast reconstruction after mastectomy.   • HHS/OMH, OMHRC, in partnership with the Veteran's Health Administration (VHA): Fighting Hepatitis and HIV Co-infection in Minority Communities webinar series. Veterans & Hepatitis C: Test, Treat, Cure.
