  • HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part A HIV Emergency Relief Grant Program. Funds provide direct financial assistance to an eligible metropolitan area (EMA) or a transitional grant area (TGA) that has been severely affected by the HIV epidemic. Deadline is October 18, 2016.   • National Academies of Science Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM)/Gulf Research Program, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF): Enhancing Coastal Community Resilience and Well-being in the Gulf of Mexico Region. Supports the development of research and practices that focus on resilience and the influence of social, cultural, and health factors on a community's capacity to adapt and thrive after environmental disasters. American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Health

  • HHS/NIH, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD): Updated resource. Healthy Native Babies Project.   • HHS/NIH, Eunice Kennedy Shriver NICHD: New resource. Moms' Mental Health Matters. This initiative seeks to raise awareness among pregnant and postpartum mothers, their families, and health care providers about depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after birth. Learn more.

Mental Health

  • HHS/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): New report. Approaches in Implementing the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act: Best Practices from the States. This guide presents five primary components identified by states as essential for the successful implementation and monitoring of parity: open channels of communication; standardization of materials; creation of templates, workbooks, and other tools; implementation of market conduct exams and network adequacy assessments; and collaboration with multiple state and federal agencies, health insurance carriers, and stakeholder groups.
