Federal Grants

  • HHS/National Institutes of Health (NIH): Understanding and Promoting Health Literacy (R01) Research Project Grant. Deadline is May 8, 2016. Learn more
  • HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Maternal and Child Health Measurement Research Network. Deadline is May 27, 2016. Learn more
  • HHS/HRSA, Bureau of Primary Health Care: Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program (DFLRP). Awards dental schools and public or private not-for-profit hospitals funds to plan, develop, and operate a dental faculty loan repayment program for faculty engaged in primary care dentistry.   • HHS/Indian Health Service (IHS): American Indians into Nursing. Eligible applicants are accredited public or private schools of nursing, accredited Tribally controlled community colleges and Tribally controlled post-secondary vocational institutions, and nurse midwife programs and nurse practitioners programs.   • Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) Foundation: Oral Health Grants Program. Awards funds to projects designed to improve oral health care for needy Americans. Deadline is May 25, 2016. Learn more
  • Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF): Global Ideas for US Solutions. RWJF seeks ideas that have worked abroad and have the potential to be adapted to work in the United States. Deadline for brief proposals is May 31, 2016. Learn more
  • The Walmart Foundation: Community Giving Program. Awards funds in four core areas of giving: Hunger Relief & Healthy Eating, Sustainability, Women's Economic Empowerment, and Opportunity. Applications may be submitted at any time during this funding cycle. Scholarships / Fellowships

  • Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU): 2016-2017 Scholarship Program. All applicants must have completed their first semester of freshman year at the time of applying. Deadlines are April 29 and May 27, 2016. Learn more

American Indian/Alaska Native Health

  • University of Washington/Indigenous Wellness Research Institute (IWRI): Training. Ethics Training for Health in Indigenous Communities (ETHICS). This program aims to strengthen research capacity and increase community involvement in NIH-funded research by developing a culturally-adapted ethical research training that is relevant and accessible to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. Clinical Trials

  • HHS/NIH, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI): Sample Collections from the Airways of Asthmatic Patients. NIH researchers seek volunteers 18 or older who have asthma (even if they are not currently taking asthma medications) and do not have any other serious lung conditions. Trial to be conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Learn more.
  • HHS/NIH, National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI): The Clinical Study of Sex Chromosome Variants. NIH researchers seek healthy volunteers 18-55 years old for a study into the possible causes of chromosome abnormalities. Trial to be conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.
