Relationships should feel safe and supportive. If someone you care about is in an unhealthy or unsafe relationship, your help can make a big difference. |

If you think a loved one’s relationship is controlling or violent, use these tips to offer support. |
||||
|
Set up a time to talk in a safe, private place. |
|||||||
|
Remember that your loved one’s partner may have access to his or her phone or computer, so be careful when texting or emailing. |

|
Give specific examples of things you’ve seen that worry you. |
|||||||
|
Be patient if your loved one isn’t ready to talk. Let him or her know you are available anytime. |
