NSF Engines Roadshows Recap

During the week of May 6, we hosted our the first two virtual regional Roadshows. Leaders from current NSF Engines awards in Louisiana, New York and North Carolina joined NSF Engines program directors for fireside chats to talk about their journey through the first round of the competition. Why should I attend a roadshow?
Attendance at a virtual roadshow can lead to a stronger proposal. The NSF Engines team has reimagined this year's Roadshows based on feedback from the broader NSF Engines community. Here are four reasons why you should consider attending your region’s virtual Roadshow:
- At each Roadshow, you will have an opportunity to hear from current NSF Engines awardees who will will provide on-the-ground perspectives of what they learned during the first round of the competition and how they are navigating building an NSF Engine.
- Breakout rooms at each Roadshow will allow you to meet potential collaborators in your state and region. Everyone who opts-in will receive the contact information of other attendees to help you continue the conversation after the Roadshow ends.
- If you don't yet have a team for an NSF Engine proposal, Roadshows provide a great opportunity to meet others who plan to lead a proposal and link up.
- During each Roadshow, NSF will publish real time data on the topic areas that applicants are considering within your region. For example: Do you want to know if others are working on proposals in quantum, biotech, advanced manufacturing or another area? Attendees will receive answers to these questions and more in real time and then have the opportunity to meet collaborators in these topic areas.
