About Dr. Tate's presentation, “Reimagining the Geography of Opportunity: Beyond the Perils of Parallel Play in STEM Policy”:

  • Geospatial arrangements represent an important lens to explore opportunities to learn in STEM education. As Tobler’s first law of geography states, “Everything is related to everything else, but near things are more related than distant things.” This lecture describes the implications of this law for policy and practice in STEM education.
