Earn Webinar Series Certificates on Your Time

FY24 Research

NGS hosts a monthly webinar series to highlight geodesy and coastal mapping programs, products, and research. There are two ways to earn a certificate of attendance for fully viewing an NGS webinar.

  1. Attend the webinar ‘live’ for the entirety of the broadcast. Those who do so will receive a certificate via email from NGS. View our upcoming webinars.

  2. NGS, in partnership with the COMET MetEd Program, has developed a tool through which you can earn a certificate by viewing recordings of past webinars. First, create a free MetEd user account. Then, visit MetEd to access nearly all of the previous webinars NGS has hosted. Once you watch the entirety of a webinar, you can download a Certificate of Attendance.

If you have questions about receiving certificates through the processes above, please email NGS.Webinar@noaa.gov.

Earn Certificates by Completing Online Lessons

MetEd Certificate

You can earn certificates through self-paced lessons on geodetic and remote sensing topics, such as “GNSS Positioning: Survey Planning and Data Acquisition”, and “Understanding Heights and Vertical Datums” (also available in Spanish and French). Quizzes are available at the end of each lesson. If passed, you will earn a certificate you may be able to use as a continuous learning credit.

There are also hundreds of other training resources for the geoscience community on COMET's website, such as Working with Water Level Data, developed by COMET and NOAA’s Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS).
