The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is hosting a Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm, Eastern Time. The Career Fair showcases career opportunities at NOAA, and is free and open to the public. Learn how NOAA achieves its mission to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans, and coasts, and to protect Earth’s precious natural resources. 

 

We invite you to register for the Career Fair and to join us in enhancing life through science. We have a wide variety of career positions with advancement opportunities that may be an excellent fit for you. What career paths does NGS offer?

  • Geodesists: use land surveys, remote sensing and satellite technology to determine the location of points on the Earth within millimeters. Many NOAA geodesists undertake research projects, and others directly support the public.
  • Cartographers: produce and improve charts needed for safe navigation through U.S. waters. 
  • Physical Scientists: work closely with cartographers and geodesists, to complete research projects; develop guidelines to use NGS products; and collaborate with the broader scientific community.
  • Information Technology (IT) Specialists: provide information systems needed to accomplish the NGS mission. Our IT specialists often collaborate with scientists to create new online tools. 
  • Program Analysts: support the NGS mission, including preparing budgets and evaluating policies.
  • Administrative Positions: include communications, property management, and records-management specialists, to help NGS execute its mission.
