New Guide: Frequently Asked Questions on the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act
The Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act became effective on December 23, 2022. The Act is a self-implementing law that established prohibitions on the possession, transport, and sale of shark fins (with limited, narrow exceptions).
NOAA Fisheries compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help clarify the provisions of the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act and posted them on our website. We also welcome additional questions and will update the posted FAQs as needed.
