Reminder to Scallop Vessel Owners and Operators: Pre-Trip Notification System is Now Live!

For Atlantic sea scallop trips that begin on April 1, 2024 and beyond, you are required to notify NOAA Fisheries of your intent to fish using the Pre-Trip Notification System (PTNS) instead of the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. The PTNS is now live and available for scallop trip notifications. Please continue to notify the IVR for any Atlantic sea scallop trips sailing prior to April 1, 2024.

Vessels are required to notify a maximum of 10 days in advance, and a minimum of 48 hours prior to the intended trip sail date and time.

The new system allows vessels to enter their own notifications online using the PTNS website. Vessel captains or owners log into the PTNS website with their individual Fish Online username and password. This is the primary means of trip notification and trip changes.

Scallop permit holders are encouraged to visit the Scallop PTNS webpage for more details.
