The 2024 fishing year American lobster trap tag order form and small entity compliance guide are now available on the Greater Atlantic Fisheries Office website. You should order your lobster trap tags using this form if you have a Federal lobster permit and your permit address is in: New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, or New York.* If your Federal lobster permit has a New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut permit address, you must order your trap tags from your state agency. If you have a Federal lobster permit and a State of Maine lobster license, you must purchase your trap tags through the Maine Department of Marine Resources.
You are encouraged to renew your 2024 federal permit as soon as possible so that your 2024 tags can be authorized, manufactured, and mailed in sufficient time ahead of planned fishing activity.
*New York: If you elect to fish in Area 6 only, you are required to purchase your trap tags from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation.
