NOAA appreciates and supports the valuable work our Stranding Network, Entanglement Response Network, and marine mammal health research partners provide. Prescott Grants support a core mission of NOAA Fisheries—the conservation and recovery of protected marine species—by helping to improve our national marine mammal stranding and entanglement response capabilities and investigations into marine mammal health. Marine mammals are important sentinels of ocean health, and the work of our Network partners significantly helps NOAA establish links among the health of marine mammals, ocean and coastal ecosystems, and coastal communities.
