NOAA Fisheries has selected 13 projects to be awarded grants through the Sea Scallop Research Set-Aside (RSA) Program. The selected projects focus on research priorities identified by the New England Fishery Management Council, which established the Sea Scallop RSA Program in 1999.
Projects will investigate scallop research priorities to improve our knowledge and management of this species. RSA programs facilitate cooperative research, bringing scientists, the fishing industry, and managers together. Sea scallop resource surveys continue to be a focus of the Sea Scallop RSA Program, and will support 2024 management decisions.
