Final Rule for 2022 Pacific Whiting Harvest Specifications and 2022 Pacific Whiting Tribal Allocation

NOAA Fisheries is announcing a final rule that implements the 2022 Pacific whiting harvest specifications and 2022 Pacific whiting tribal allocation. This final rule will implement the U.S. total allowable catch (TAC) for Pacific whiting of 402,646 mt. This TAC was developed by the Pacific Hake/Whiting Treaty Joint Management Committee (JMC) during their remote meeting March 01-03. This final rule also implements the 2022 tribal allocation of 17.5 percent of the U.S. TAC, allocations for three non-tribal commercial whiting sectors, and set-asides for research and incidental mortality of Pacific whiting, as shown in the tables below.
