NOAA Live! Alaska is a series of interactive webinars, aimed at Alaska students in grades 2-8 (but of interest to all ages). We feature NOAA scientists, educators and partners to explore NOAA’s work in Alaska. Learn about current research. Connect to what’s going on in your communities. Join us to ask questions to our presenters and learn more about weather, oceanography, marine life, fisheries and more in Alaska!
In 2021-22, NOAA Live! Alaska will be doing shorter series of regional webinars focused on specific areas in Alaska. With a few exceptions, webinars will generally be on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm AKT.

St. Lawrence Island (Siberian Yupik: Sivuqaq) is a remote island in the middle of the Bering Sea, closer to Russia than Alaska. Join us as two researchers discuss fascinating discoveries about walrus reproduction, the importance of a subsistence way of life to Bering Strait communities, and how these research projects are helping preserve Akuzipik, the native language on St. Lawrence Island, by working with the local schools.
