The Deepwater Horizon Trustee Council and Open Ocean Trustee Implementation Group are holding four public outreach events June 4, 5, and 6, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida. We encourage you to attend and learn about the work we're doing restoring the Gulf of Mexico.
All four events will take place at Pensacola City Hall, 222 West Main Street, Pensacola, Florida. Thank you to the City of Pensacola for hosting!
June 4 from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., Vince Whibbs Room: Open Ocean Monitoring and Adaptive Management Outreach Event
The Open Ocean Trustees will hold an outreach event to present the recently released Monitoring and Adaptive Management Strategy. We’ll also ask for input from attendees on development of our Open Ocean monitoring and adaptive management near and long-term information needs. More info >>
June 4 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., Hagler/Mason Room: Open Ocean Restoration Plan 2 Public Meeting
The Open Ocean Trustees released the Draft Restoration Plan 2 for public review and comment on May 15. Attend to learn more and comment on the draft plan, which proposes 18 preferred projects to restore fish, sea turtles, marine mammals and deep sea corals. More info >>
June 5 at 5:30 p.m., City Council Chambers: Gulf Spill Restoration Outreach and Education Workshop
The Trustees will hold a two-part education and outreach workshop to help community members and organizations learn more about basics of the Deepwater Horizon restoration process, and how to effectively propose restoration project ideas. More info >>
June 6 at 5:30 p.m., Hagler/Mason Room and City Council Chambers: Trustee Council Annual Public Meeting
The Trustee Council will host an open house and present updates on the last year's progress restoring the Gulf. This meeting will also serve as the annual public meeting for the Region-wide Trustee Implementation Group. More info >>
NOTE: Parking is available in the lot in front of Pensacola City Hall along West Main St. On the evenings of June 4, 5 and 6, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos baseball team has home games nearby. Game attendees will be using the same lot. Please let the parking attendant know that you are attending the Deepwater Horizon public meetings and you will not be charged.
