NOAA Fisheries Announces Measure to Modify Atlantic Mackerel In-Season Closure Provision
Today, NOAA Fisheries filed the final rule for Framework Adjustment 12 to the Atlantic Mackerel, Squid, and Butterfish, Fishery Management Plan. This action allows a small incidental possession limit (5,000 lb) of Atlantic mackerel to continue after 100 percent of the domestic annual harvest is caught instead of prohibiting the possession of Atlantic mackerel for the rest of the year.
