NOAA Fisheries Approves Lease-Only Operations Plan for Sector 9, Amendment to Sector 7 Operations Plan, and Quota Allocations for Sectors 7 and 9

NOAA Fisheries is approving Northeast Fishery Sector 9’s operations plan to allow it to operate as a lease-only sector.

We are also allocating 2018 quotas to Sectors 7 and 9 based on catch limits recommended by the New England Fishery Management Council, which we approved earlier this year. In addition, we are approving Sector 7’s amendment to its operations plan as submitted, which includes a condition that would make all vessels owned by Carlos Rafael inactive unless and until the vessels are sold to an independent third party.

Read the interim final rule as filed in the Federal Register.
