The greatest impact on routing in DOCLINE 6 is the absence of the ‘Route to Resource Libraries’ option (the pool of academic libraries with large collections and devoted ILL staff). Without this option, requests that have exhausted Routing Table lenders, that would likely have been filled by Resource Libraries, are instead going to NLM and/or on to ‘All Other Libraries’ to be filled.
Timing of automatic re-routing to a new lender by Time-Triggered Actions (TTA) has not changed. TTA removes and re-routes requests when the current lender doesn’t take timely action (whether Receipting or Updating). Warnings about Time-Triggered Actions appear for both the Lender and Borrower in Request Search results.
