Save-the-Date:  Release of the Community Disaster Resilience Framework April 27, 2015, Texas Southern University, Houston, TX

Dear Colleagues,

Please mark your calendars for the 5th NIST Workshop on Disaster Resilience, to be held April 27, 2015 on the campus of Texas Southern University in in Houston, Texas.  This workshop will feature the release of the Community Disaster Resilience Framework as a draft for public comment.

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the extensive contributions of workshop participants and others who have provided comments to NIST during the past year.  The Framework has benefitted significantly from this input.  The document released on April 27 retains the content of the 75% draft (available at http://www.nist.gov/el/building_materials/resilience/framework.cfm), but it is significantly restructured to make the resilience planning methodology more accessible to users.

Participants in the April 27, 2015 workshop will be introduced to the Community Disaster Resilience Framework, as well as participate in discussions about how the methodology can be applied at the community level.  Leading the discussions will be a distinguished panel of local and regional government representatives who will consider potential application of the Framework to their communities.

General information about the NIST Community Resilience Program can be found at http://www.nist.gov/el/building_materials/resilience/index.cfm.
