STANDARDS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES  AVAILABLE

Some may be interested in the following opportunities for students: 

  1. ASTM International Technical Committee E04 on Metallography is seeking applications for their $1,000 USD Mary R. Norton Memorial Scholarship Award for Women. This award is offered to encourage women undergraduate seniors or first-year graduate students to pursue the study of Physical Metallurgy or Materials Science with emphasis on the relationship of microstructure to material properties. Any questions or completed applications can be sent to Travis Murdock (ASTM Academic Outreach) at tmurdock@astm.org or to Janet Gbur (E04 MRN Award Chair) at jlg120@case.edu. The application is attached, and the deadline has been extended to January 15, 2025.

  2. ASTM International is seeking up to two eligible students to represent the Society as part of the Washington Internship for Students of Engineering program (WISE). This 8-week in-person internship is designed to prepare future STEM leaders for the increasingly important issues at the intersection of science, technology, and public policy in the United States. The program is open to junior/senior undergraduate and graduate students with housing provided in Washington D.C. for the duration of the program.   3. SES is accepting Student Scholarship applications. The program was established to support students who study standards in their academic curriculum. Eligible students are enrolled full-time as undergraduate or graduate students in any academic discipline and use standards in their academic curriculum.
