NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 Concept Paper
NIST has released the “Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 Concept Paper: Potential Significant Updates to the Cybersecurity Framework,” outlining potential significant changes to the Cybersecurity Framework for public review and comment. Please provide feedback and comments to cyberframework@nist.gov by March 3, 2023. The Paper will be discussed at the upcoming CSF 2.0 Workshop #2 on February 15, 2023 and the CSF 2.0 Working Sessions on February 22-23, 2023.
AI Risk Management Framework 1.0 Released
NIST released the AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0) on Thursday, January 26, 2023. The NIST AI RMF is a guidance document for voluntary use by organizations designing, developing, deploying or using AI systems to help manage the many risks of AI technologies.

NIST Joins Alliance to Promote Open Wireless Technologies and Supply Chains
NIST has joined the O-RAN Alliance, a nonprofit organization made up of mobile network operators, vendors, and academic and government institutions working to make radio access network (RAN) technologies more open, intelligent and interoperable.
NIST, which has a program focused on Open RAN technology, has been a leader in radio frequency measurements for more than a century. The agency’s Communication Technology Laboratory has advanced measurement facilities including anechoic and reverberation chambers, robotic antenna systems and test beds for optimizing open-source 5G and other wireless systems.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Releases FY22 Client Impacts
The MEP National Network equips U.S. manufacturers with the tools and resources necessary to be competitive in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. With MEP Centers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, U.S. manufacturers have easy access to comprehensive, proven solutions. In fiscal year (FY) 2022, the Network interacted with more than 33,500 manufacturers. According to clients surveyed in FY22, the MEP National Network helped these manufacturers achieve the following:
- Over 116,700 jobs created or retained
- $2.5 billion cost savings
- $18.8 billion new and retained sales
- $6.4 billion new client investments

2023 – 2024 Baldrige Excellence Framework Business/Non-Profit Now Available
The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program has released the 2023–2024 Baldrige Excellence Framework® (Business/Nonprofit): Proven Leadership and Management Practices for High Performance —in both print form and PDF. The 2023–2024 Baldrige Excellence Framework® (Education) and 2023–2024 Baldrige Excellence Framework® (Health Care) will be available in mid-February. All three versions include the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence®, core values and concepts, and guidelines for evaluating your organization's processes and results.

NIST Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division Awards $310,000 in Phase 3 of the CommanDING Tech Challenge
In January, NIST PSCR announced the Phase 3 winners of the CommanDING Tech Challenge and $310,000 in cash awards. Four competitors were selected to advance to Phase 4 and compete in the live technology demonstrations taking place in March 2023. Learn more about the prize challenge.

NIST Webinar: After Action Report: 2016-2022 PSCR Program Impacts
NIST’s Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division is hosting the “After Action Report: 2016-2022 PSCR Program Impacts” webinar on February 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. MT. During the webinar, PSCR Division Chief Dereck Orr will provide an overview of PSCR's 2016-2022 Impact Assessment Report Executive Summary, which will be released in early 2023. This will include a summary of what led PSCR to receive $300M from the Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act and the leading indicators PSCR uses to measure the program's success. Then, Mr. Orr will review the program-level and portfolio-specific accomplishments and impacts of the $300M. Finally, he will preview the full impacts report which will be published in the spring. National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC) Meeting
The National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC) is tasked with advising the President and the National AI Initiative Office on topics related to the National AI Initiative. The next NAIAC meeting will be held on February 10, 2023, from 11:00am – 3:00pm ET. The agenda and virtual attendance instructions can be found here.
