Project Spotlight: Securing Telehealth Remote Patient Monitoring Ecosystem

telehealth2

Date/Time: Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 3 p.m. EDT

Duration: 30 minutes plus Q&A

Increasingly, healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) are relying on telehealth and remote patient monitoring (RPM) capabilities to treat patients at home. As the use of these capabilities continues to grow, it is important to ensure the infrastructure supporting them can maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data, as well as ensure the safety of patients.

Join us on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 3 p.m. EDT to explore how the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), which is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is addressing the challenge of securing the RPM ecosystem through collaborative efforts with industry and the information technology community.

We'll discuss:

  • How organizations can enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of an RPM solution.
  • How organizations can limit security and privacy risk when implementing an RPM solution.
  • How the NCCoE collaborated with solutions providers that included HDOs, telehealth platform providers, and technology manufacturers to develop the reference architecture.
  • How attendees can get involved in the NCCoE healthcare sector efforts.
  • How guidance from the NIST Cybersecurity for the Internet of Things program on device cybersecurity capabilities can provide HDOs awareness of their biometric device acquisition processes.
